SpyHunter’s Process Guard selection is created for you to be fully responsible for authorization of processes to be started, so you can watch how everything works and notice the moment any malignant processes try to be performed. Registry Guard is going to find and stop the processes trying to secretly auto-start malware by promoting the system’s registry.
For this, SpyHunter’s Process Guard feature, to be activated, navigate to Process Guard selection which is on the leftin Spyhunter’s panel, and mark Activate Process Guard.
Process Guard selection shows the provided items:
- ‘Allowed items’ (on the left side). Those items that were allowed to be started.
- ‘Blocked items’ (on the right side). Items that were not given the permission to be started on your operating system.
To get to know more about processes present in both lists, just press on the name of the file and the data will quickly appear in the screen. However, keep in mind that not Spyhunter team is the provider of this data, but the creator of the item. For data confirmation, rely on More Info selection. For updated data to be displayed, press on the item/process and then on More Info selection. What is more, remember that for such actions to be made, you will need a good internet connection. Finally, if you want to use More Info selection, it is possible only if you have the full version of Spyhunter anti-malware.
After SpyHunter’s Process Guard is set to activation, each time the process tries to be started, the warning will be shown, providing the name of the file, so you can exactly know what you are dealing with. However, if the name of the file is not familiar for you, you are firstly advised to press on More Info selection, so you will be provided with the newest information regarding the file. On the other hand, if you are answered with UNKNOWN, you should better look for the information in the net. If the search results show that the file can be classified to the group of viruses, you are suggested to block the process immediately.
If anytime, while working with your operating system, you notice that a particular program is disturbed or cannot be worked with, check whether you haven’t blocked it by mistake. If you find that you’ve acted in a wrong way, navigate to the list of the blocked items, and eliminate this program.
To cancel the process to be started, press No. If you want the process will be launched, press Yes.
If you pressed No, you may be displayed a warning saying: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. But don’t be bothered as it doesn’t mean something hazardous. The message only confirms that the process was cancelled.
Finally, check whether Remember my answer selection is marked. It is created for your benefit, so your selection will be saved and added to the list Allowed/Blocked.
